- The Judicial Conference sets all fees for the District Courts. The mandated fee for copying by our office is $.50 per page.

- The witness fee is $40.00 per day and $.51 per mile.

- Cash, check, cashier's check or money order payable to Clerk, U.S. District Court. We do not accept third party checks. We do not accept personal checks for payment of bonds. We do not accept any credit cards, or debit cards as a form of payment at the Clerk's Office. Pay.gov is available for certain filing events in CM/ECF including new civil complaints and pro hac vice applications. Pay.gov accepts many common forms of payment including credit cards, debit cards, and direct debit.

- All records are public information unless sealed by the court.

- It means that the court has waived the filing fee. It does apply to other costs, such as copies or transcripts.

- The court needs an original plus two copies of motions, memoranda and briefs, original plus three copies of exhibit lists and original plus four copies of witness lists (for trial use).
If you mail your documents to the court and want a return copy, please remember to send the required amount of copies according to the above plus an additional copy to conform and return to you.
When documents are e-filed via CM/ECF, only the copies must be brought to the Clerk's Office. -
- There are four U.S. District Judges and three Senior U.S. District Judges. The District Judges are assisted by three full-time Magistrate Judges.

- Individuals who request files from archives can expect to review those files within 2-3 weeks. There is a retrieval fee of $64.00 with each additional box being $39.00.

To file documents or pleadings after business hours, a document receptacle is available at the front entrance to the courthouse. Documents must be date/time stamped to reflect the exact time they were placed in the receptacle. (see Notice RE: New document Receptacle for After-Hours Filing)
